I give it an above average Rating. I feel it is the only one in this price range that meets all the requirements for most users. Just missing excellent.
So happy with my previous Samsung, When I decided to upgrade, the choice was simple. This TV was the only one in the price range and size that I was looking for that also had all the features I wanted. Built in Digital Tuner, (Dual tuner by the way) DVI input, & Component input. Easy to use Remote and simple menus that are easy to understand.
Now on to the picture quality. Just outstanding. The best picture in a 16X9 Tube that you can get IMHO. Incredibly Sharp, clear and crisp. I am a satellite customer with Dish Networks and as of yet they do not offer a local HD Package. Since I live in an apartment I am limited on the type of antenna I can use Most of the local channels in my area are a good 50 Miles from where I live. However, with a small dish mounted antenna, I am able to pick up most of the Local HD's that I want. This is quite a feat since I can't even pick up regular local channels without a rooftop antenna. True HD Is amazing. I love it for watching Sports. Baseball & Football never looked so good. It's almost like you are looking through a window.
Like all products there are a few cons and this one is no exception. First of all the sound quality is not as good as older models. Although, it is still what I consider acceptable. Also, the first set that was delivered to me from Sears was an out of the box failure. The tuner did not work at all and I understand that this is not an uncommon failure in these sets. The other slight annoyance is that the set top is sloped downward sharply. On a small set, this would not be a big deal, yet on this set where I would like to keep my center speaker for my surround system, this is more annoying because the speaker has fallen of quite a few times.
All in all I have to rate my experience as positive. Samsung has become one of my favorite brands because of their commitment to quality. I have had this set for about 6 months now and am very satisfied with the performance and quality. Great job samsung!
