The Bottom Line:
A great set at a reasonable price. It's a fantastic sports, movies, and gaming set. This is my second Samsung flat panel TV -- I recommend the brand.
I primarily watch football and movies. I bought this set online to upgrade from my old 35" Mitsubishi CRT -- which I thought was a fine set -- and had no ideal how much better watching sports could be on a large plasma screen and in HD. The blacks are very deep and rich. I have a Blu-Ray DVD, also, and just can't believe the images I'm watching. This is a fantastic television. You would almost have to spend twice the money to beat this picture in a significant way.
I compared it to an expensive Pioneer and Sony at the store and just couldn't justify the extra money -- there just wasn't enough of a difference. The set is actually cheaper now that when I bought mine -- so you can't go wrong. I love the swivel stand, which helps favor one side of the room or the other, and the overall appearance is very classy. Plenty of connectors for all the accessories. It is a little slow and clumsy when switching sources -- but it's not that big of deal.
The kids have a XBox 360 hooked up to it -- and I have to say, it's a truly unbelievable gaming monitor.
Here's my biggest complaint: I would just give anything if the manufacturers would realize that we watch TV in a dark room and start making all remotes backlit.
