This tv is defective. Here's what you need to do...
I've had this model for 6 years. It has died three times in those six years. Same symptoms as everyone else, including the pop and burning smell which is not normal (in case anyone has been told otherwise by Samsung). I have spent over 50 hours on the phone in the last 3 years. I had a 5 year... Read full review »
is this why you have to purchase the extended warranty??
We purchased our Samsung HCM4215W in October 2002, and in August 2004 it's convergence also went!! I have contacted both Samsung and Best Buy by email, with both of their standard replies being "one year warranty expired". Does this mean you are supposed to spend $1400 on a TV and expect it to die... Read full review »
Beware of this model!
We have experienced nothing but problems with this model. We bought our model in Jan. 2003 and have experienced it "popping" on 3 separate occasions and have gone through 2 sets. The popping results in the television not working at all due to a problem with the power supply circuit board. Read full review »
Excellent picture, lousy reliablility, worse warranty service
I bought the TV in Nov 2002.
Plug it in, turn it on, spend 3 days playing with the menu.
Dig instruction manual back out....oh, that's what that does.
Wow, that really is a clear picture, pop in a DVD, wow, that is even clearer!
How many connections on the back...yup, more than...

Great for a starter HDTV
I've had this set for 2 1/2 years and have loved it, no problems to steer you away from it. I bought it at Best Buy back in 2003 for $1399 and its been worth every penny.
42" is the perfect size for a smaller condo or house, it's been in a 4-bedroom house, 1-bedroom apartment and...

STAY AWAY
The TV was purchased July 2003. After a 1 year and 6 months the convergence circuit has gone out. After speaking with multiple TV repair centers about Samsung TV's, everyone of them said they are very difficult to work on. Repair and the parts are hard to come by as well. I have spoken with the... Read full review »
Throw Your Money Out The Window Instead!!
We purchased this as an open box through Best Buy. They neglected to tell us the television had been previously purchased and returned as a lemon. We have since found out that the television was manufactured in 10/02 and repaired in 12/02; purchased in 1/03, then returned and/or repaired on... Read full review »
Samsung HCM4215W Review
I purchased this model TV in September 2003. The set malfunctioned and ceased operating within 6 weeks of the purchase. A service request was made and after almost another week a service company responded and attempted a repair. The repair lasted one day. Two weeks later the set was picked up for a...
