Try to view this set and any other in a lighting environment similar to your home and not under harsh, high intensity store lighting.
The Samsung HLT-6189S has a fantastic 61" HD true 1080P picture in a compact size. As far as screen size for the dollar rear projection is still the way to go. The TV size of 14.4" depth and 75 pounds of this TV can only by beat by a flat panel, which is about twice the money. The 6189S is the world's first LED, DLP television, meaning its light source is LED, which has eliminated the color wheel and bulb replacement. The display produces an extremely bright clear sharp image and the colors appear to be very accurate and not over saturated. It is a real pleasure to watch this set.
Gamers tell me they think the Samsung HLT-6189S is the ultimate set at the present time. Samsung is the only manufacturer that I am aware of that has HDMI 1.3 inputs. HDMI 1.3 is the new standard for the highest quality digital A/V connection, as it will carry more than twice the bandwidth of present standard HDMI. More capacity means better picture, color and sound.
The TV audio speakers produce a clear defined sound and the set also has an equalizer. It is ready to accept the best video and audio sources that you can throw at it and is already 3D ready if and when that ever happens.
After making a side-by-side comparison of the top manufactures of big screens, for me the Samsung 6189S was the way to go and I still have not changed my mind. I did not try to include all the specs for this set, if you want those go to the Samsung web site. I purchased my set online from The High Definition Store.
