Great TV for a decent price.

Pros Looks great on the wall! No wires to be seen!
Cons Sound is Low quility. Remote control could be nicer.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  After looking at many Plasmas, you can not over look the clarity of a Samsung. Picture perfect images! Makes watching movies a whole new experience.
I purchased this TV about 4 months ago. We hung it on the wall in our master bedroom. It's really nice being able to put a TV up off the floor! It actually gave us more room to add another dresser and not have something on top of it!

The picture quality is suburb! You have a few preset picture settings, Movie, Standard and Dynamic. Movie will give you a little darer screen. Adding more shade to the backgrounds. Standard is just what it says. I guess you can say that it is normal viewing. Then you have Dynamic. Dynamic will enhance the colors 10 fold. The reds and blues really POP. It looks great when your watching the discover channel or something nature. For regular viewing, I found it a little to much color and kind of annoying.

The sound is OK. Not much to say for a plasma. There really is no room for Samsung to put high end speakers. But that's why they have home theaters!

The remote control was a little disappointing. You would think for a $1300 TV they would have given you a decent remote. Its not a bad remote, the buttons are laid out OK but not real easy to use. If you have bug fingers, you would probably be hitting multiple buttons at once. It has very tiny buttons. There is a light on the remote. It only lights up the Vol and Channel buttons. None of the other 25 buttons light up. Even if they did, you would probably have no idea what they are since there so small.

As far as mounting the TV to the wall, that was a real simple project. I bought the MONSTER WALL MOUNT for only $69.00 at PeachDirect.com.... Best Buy wanted $160 for the same mount! Anyhow, it only took 15 minutes and went up with ease. I only put 4 bolts in the wall and the TV of course has 4 bolts in the back, ready to hang the brackets.

The specs of the TV are as follows:

Samsung is the choice of value-conscious plasma HDTV enthusiasts. Whether you're in a dark room or in broad daylight, Samsung's FilterBright anti-reflection technology keeps the picture crisp and vibrant. A 15,000:1 contrast ratio and 18-bit technology let you see every detail and natural, rich color. Innovative auto-pixel-shift technology makes picture "burn-in" a thing of the past.

As noted there is a burn away built into the TV. Plasma screens are a lot like the old Projection TV's. Unfortunately if you have a still image on the screen for a log period of time. It WILL burn into the screen. Then when your screen or picture changes, you will see a ghost of an image implanted in the screen. Unlike the old Projection TV's, this TV will fix it's self. It may take a few hours, but the burned image will disappear and not be seen. People claim that the "Burn in Image is a thing in the past".... Well, it is only because it will self repair. Don't let that fool you and if you see a burned image. It will fix it's self.

There is also a Game mode built in the TV that changes the pixels and colors ever so slightly to help prevent the burn. So in reality, you do not have to worry about that happening. But of course, I would still use caution with the video games. I'm still Leary about that.

The power button is located in the front of the tv, just below the center of the screen. There is a Blue light the surrounds the power button. This light can be turned on or off while watching TV. It can also be used as a night light and left on 24 / 7. If used as a night light, it is as bright as a LED night light you plug into the wall.

The instruction manual is easy to read. Probably on of the few you don't need a collage degree to understand! It has step by step instructions on tuning your TV and even will tell you how to put the TV on the wall and run your wire in the wall. Out of sight, out of mind.

I chose the Samsung because, to me it had a clear picture the Panasonic, Hitachi, Vizio and most other competitive brands. They all look great, however, Sony and Samsung have been rated by many home theater enthusiasts to have the best reliability and picture.

I'm just glad we don't have to pay $6,000 for and HD Plasma anymore! Now if only Gas and Oil would come down to earth!

Go to your local electronic stores and look for yourself. You will most likely walk away with a Samsung or Sony.
