The Bottom Line:
So far we're happy with the TV. Hopefully we won't have any issues with it.
We bought our first Samsung TV on 4/30/07 & it is being replaced today because it was faulty. From early on we noticed a green line running vertically on the left side of the TV screen. Samsung's website's KnowledgeBase said this is caused by the "failure of the circuitry controlling the plasma panel" and it must be serviced. We also noticed that randomly the sound goes off and we must turn the TV off and turn it back on to bring the sound back. Hopefully it was an isolated event, but thought it was worth mentioning.
We received the replacement TV and SO FAR SO GOOD. The TV has great clarity and color, the sound from the TV itself is OK. We have it hooked up to a KEF surround sound system and it really adds to the whole effect of HD. My husband watches a lot of sports and you can truly see the blades of grass in baseball games and golf. The picture is crystal clear on shows we watch that are broadcast in HD. The regular channels are very clear, but not as clear as the HD channels. The remote control is easy to use and the TV has many features like auto volume control, Digital Noise Reduction, Digital Natural Image engine, Multi-Channel Digital Sound Track, film mode option, energy saving option, game mode...too many to name them all.
