Should have listened to my 'insticts' and bought an iphone
Pros
Easy to use texting via touch keypad
Cons
Screen sensitivity changes on its own, ugly, harder to operate while driving
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Avoid the Instinct and buy an iphone
While the Samsung Instint has proven itself to be somewhat reliable there are a number of features I have grown to hate:
First and foremost, if you drive & talk, the Instinct is the LAST phone you should use. Many features seemingly require 2 hands to operate.
The screen sensitivity changes on its own causing freeze-ups and accidental phone calls on a far too regular basis.
Using the Instinct while driving will give opponents to driving while talking plenty of ammo for their cause. It just draws too much attention away to operate basic features.
While the phone is "tv capable" the stations are extremely limited, the shows constantly repeating and the screen will not display horizontally, so your trying to watch on a 1.5" x 2" screen - can you say headache?
I do like the text touch keypad though, easier to use than the iphone, although when the screen sensitivity acts up it won't matter anyway.
The Instinct is internet capable too however the cost can be prohibitive with some providers so please do your homework first - it may be a costly mistake. The fact that the Instinct does not rely on wi-fi makes it one of its few advantages.People I talk to on the Instinct have reported to me that my voice seems to "echo", something I have not experienced with any other cell phone.
Overall, the Instinct is ugly, clunky, harder to use (often unsafe) and seems to have a mind of its own at times.
I bought the Instinct based on reviews I saw on YouTube, dubbed the "iphone killer" and even though I was drawn to the iphone, I went against my own instincts and bought this regrettable phone. Soon to be for sale on eBay for cheap.
