The Bottom Line:
If you need a cell phone and a MP3 player but short on dough? The Juke is a solid phone that will not disappoint.
When my last motorolla died I was in need of a new phone this is my Review of the Samsung Juke:
The Good:
Colors - Mine is red, but there are two other colors such as black and teal as well.
Size- I was shocked to see how small it really is. It's about an average fingers length folded up, around 6 inches open, and about an inch thick when folded up.
Music - 2GB of memory (that's a quarter of the memory an iphone has.) It has a customizable background for MP3 mode. The music can be played either through the built in speaker which is decent if all your doing is jamming out alone in the bathroom. Sound quality very is very good either way.
Accessories - This phone comes with headphones (these and only these work with the phones headphone outlet.) a wall charger; USB cord for loading/unloading music.
Keypad - When I first flipped the juke I was amazed at the gleaming mirror that samsung installed as a keypad. At first I figured these shiny keys will only get worn and lose their luster, on the contrary to this day they have stayed just as shiny as they were out of the box. This keypad is very small and takes some time getting used to if you are an avid texter with hands larger than the average 6 year old.
Camera phone: Picture quality is so sad I don't know who'd want to use it.
Style: The flip side of the phone instantly draws attention. The fact that it flips open to the side rather then teh tradional flip phones makes this origianl.
Tools: This phone is equiped with your basic calender, tip calculator, etc. Nothing to fancy here.
Not so good:
Size: Holding a phone this small seems to give the illusion that it's not meant to take the beating a typical cell phone would.
Music: 2Gb may not be enough for avid music fans. Also music must be downloaded through Windows media (itunes won't work.) Also listening with headphones must be done with the pair that came with the phone so those new skull candy's won't cut it with this phone.
Accessories: headphones seem cheap and frail. The wall charger is relatively short; doesn't allow to much freedom when your charging your phone. Also a car charger must be bought seperatly.
Keypad:Takes some adjusting typical of anyphone.
Camera: Blah
Style: the part of this phone that makes it the most attractable aside from the 2GB of memory is it's sideflip cover. The mechanics of the flip leads one to think this piece will eventually break off.
Tools- Aside from just having the basics the real downfall of this phone is it's inabilty to browse the web. It can download ringtones but that's it.
