THIS "MIL-SPEC" PHONE DOES NOT CARRY ANY ADDITIONAL WARRANTY AGAINST DAMAGE.
Pros
Easy to Use. Good Battery Life
Cons
Need to remove battery to access microSD card. No USB interface.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Major Design Flaw. Outer display screen is not well protected. It is easily damaged. Can not recommend.
This is a basic phone for phone calls, but not designed for texting or e-mails.
Here are the three main reasons I can not recommend this phone after using it for 6 months.
ONE:
The phone is Mil-Spec but the exterior display did not survive a minor impact. I always carry my phone inside my pants pocket and the other day I accidentally bumped up against a table. The outer display screen cracked and both the outer display and inner display are damaged and unreadable! I had this exact same accident (a different table and a different phone) with my old LG L1400 phone, but the LG outer display was still 100% functional and the inner display was unaffected. I continued to use the LG for over a year with the cracked screen without problems.
THIS MIL-SPEC PHONE DOES NOT CARRY ANY ADDITIONAL WARRANTY. The Mil-Spec is merely advertising as neither AT&T or Samsung will pay to fix the phone if you damage it. Samsung is charging me $94 to repair the phone.
TWO:
AT&T Navigator did not work very well. The GPS signal was intermittent and search results were slow eventhough I live in an urban area (South Florida). Also, the AT&T Global Navigator does not work in Mexico on this phone. You will need a data plan if you plan to use AT&T Navigator since data charges are not included with AT&T Navigator.
THREE:
The PPT button is on the outside and can easily be pushed. It can not be deactivated or reassigned. I am constantly being asked to initialize PPT everytime I flip open the phone. I assume if I had PPT I would be accidentally dialing people all the time.
I would recommend the Motorola Tundra instead. It has stereo bluetooth.
