If you are looking for a new LCD monitor, seriously consider this one. The quality you get is well worth the reasonable price!
I purchased this Samsung LCD monitor a few months ago after rigorous research on several different 19" LCDs. My conclusion was that this monitor offered the best combination of picture quality and price. One problem I've noticed with a lot of LCD screens is that they just don't get bright enough. And when they do, you tend to lose a lot of quality. This monitor not only has a better than normal brightness rating (270 cd/m2), but this monitor also has an exceptionally high contrast ratio. Most LCDs are in the 400:1 to 550:1 contrast ratio range. This Samsung has a contrast ratio of 700:1 Most monitors with that high of contrast ratio cost $400+ So not only do you get an exceptionally bright image, but also a sharp one!
Ok ok, numbers are all good and great, but what about actual performance? I tested this monitor along side several other 19" LCDs, one of which was the Samsung 914v. I loaded up a graphically intense 3D game with each monitor. I was able to see a substantial difference in the sharpness and brightness with the 930B over all the other monitors. But more than that, most of the monitors experienced a lot of smear and fuzziness when the image was changing quickly. The 930b stayed crystal clear throughout everything!
Besides the great picture quality, I also like the physical appearance of this monitor. It is compact and simple. There isn't an excess of plastic casing around the screen itself. Also, the buttons are tucked away neatly and aren't staring you in the face. It just looks very sleek and high tech.
Overall this monitor offers outstanding quality without a high price tag. About the only complaint would be that the monitor doesn't include a DVI cable.
