Great price, excellent flat panel from Samsung

Pros Fast, very bright, a bargain at this price, great Samsung quality, DVI support.
Cons No DVI cable, controls/menu buttons are obscure, pedestal/base needs rubber stops.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Samsung makes excellent computer products. This monitor is top notch for the price and quality. Highly recommended!
Been using this 19" LCD flat panel monitor for about a month, in replacement for a 15" LCD Dell. What a difference it makes, I have so much desktop space now.

Price was definitely one of the most attractive options. I wanted a cheap monitor, with great display image.

Contrast is excellent, as stated by the specifications. Very bright. Smooth, consistent and even brightness all around, in every area of the screen. Text is very crisp and sharp. Very fast (8ms) update time.

Lightweight, good looking as well.

The controls are hard to use at first mostly because they are not visibly labeled, they are black buttons on the bottom central part of the monitor, and they have no white markings to contrast. Menu buttons are difficult to understand, and takes sometime to getting used to them.

It has a quick profile/settings button, you can switch between predefined contrast and brightness levels: internet, text, movies, sports, etc. Very handy and useful.

It doesn't come with a DVI cable, though. I started using this monitor with my built-in video on my computer and a regular VGA cable. Everything was good, when I decided to get a DVI (digital video interface) cable for it. Text is a LOT sharper, you can actually notice it a lot. Colors are better defined and edges of detailed sections of the screen are sharper indeed.
