it can handle the extremes
yeah, i researched a lot of digital camcorders looking basically for the cheapest one possible. This model and a few others popped up. I compared the features, saw that the other models didn't have some of the features that this one did, and I ended up buying this one.

SCD80
Good for money, I have had no problems at all other than with the tape in about 6 months, and you can use the viewfinder and LCD at the same time if the LCD is turned away from the user. Very easy top upgrade, I have bought a wide angle lens for it that really makes a difference. Read full review »
Basically my first MiniDV purchase...
Basically my first MiniDV purchase and even though it only cost me 420.00 US, it was well worth that price and more. Nice features abound on this cam. The Digital FX are a nice touch as well.
