The Bottom Line:
Poor reliability and customer service.
After doing a lot of research, and taking the salesman's suggestion, I purchased the 860.
It was simple to use, and had some advanced features that other analog cameras didn't.
The first think I noticed was that the battery lasted only about 30 minutes with the LCD on. I found out that this was somewhat "normal" for the camera, so I purchased a long-life battery.
However, within 3 months the camera started eating the tapes. Unfortunately, I was on vacation and could not return until after the 3 month warranty.
Their customer service is terrible, listing service centers that are NOT authorized service centers. After all of my calls, the camera sits broken and unused.
Go for a few bucks more, and get a name brand product.
