Without HD service its a stinker and no audio for those without a receiver.

The Bottom Line:
A great buy for the audio video phile on a budget or those drooling over a plasma at thes prices.
If you are considering a plasma this is a great one to think about, if you dont want to pay through the nose. I picked mine up for 3k so shop around and yes I got it from an authorized dealer with all the bells and whistles (Price match).
The picture is great even compated to the higherend plasma's it holds its water. Samsung has truly done a great job with this model and it will be a great fit for you provided that you use HDTV and have your own receiver to jump the audio into. I do and the sound and picture is second to none.
Make sure you have a progressive scan dvd player to get the most out of that picutre too. If you dont have HDTV service or are unabel to get it then I would move on or wait for HD service. Without HD the picture is clearly much worse. I had my regular digital cable box for a few days before I was upgraded and I was not amazed at all with the picture rather a bit nervous that I bought a lemon of a TV (even the s-video looked crapy). When I upgraded my cable service all was well and I am extreamly happy.
The audio is lacking on this model. You can buy speakers that will attach to the sides but who wants a pair of $200 speakers for a 3-4k tv? I use my yamaha receiver for the audio stright out of the HD box and it sounds great. Frankly I havent used the spekers on any tv for the last 10 years so this was not a problem for me.
