SPN4235 i am totally happy!

Pros Excellent picture, great contrast and brightness. a near perfect image.
Cons no speakers, would you really watch plasma on tv speakers? tv/video menu a little annoying.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I would totally reccomend this for anyone who likes the plasma technology but doenst want to spend their life savings to get it.
I originally picked up a Daewoo dp-42sm plasma because i couldnt afford the $1,000.00 more for the samsung. reading their specs the daewoo seemed like a better value. Boy, was i wrong. The daewoo turned out to be a total nightmare. after 2 defective units and no consistancy between them in color or PQ i decided to break myself the extra money and buy the samsung. That was the best decision i ever made. from the moment i first fired it up i was in total awe at how much better the picture was. the PQ and initial out of the box setting are so good, that all i did was select movie and warm1 on the menu and it didnt need any further adjustment. with the daewoo i could never get the picture right. it always looked too bright, or too color rich. This samsung is incredible and the DNIe feature makes it that much better. Friends of mine who have more disposable income than me have HDTV plasma sets. and they have all agree'd that had they seen this tv when they bought their's that they wouldnt have fealt the need to shell out $9,000 for their's. EDTV in my opinion is all you need in a plasma as long as your not sitting 2 feet from the screen. and the picture through a progressive scan dvd or hdtv source is just what you would expect and a little bit more.

the only negative i have found with this tv is in how it switches through the sources (eg. the tv/video button) on most sets you hit the button and it switches from one source to the next. on the samsung it brings up a menu then you select the appropriate source such as tv,video, component 1 or 2, s video, dvi. then it goes to that source. the only problem with this is. alot of universal remotes would have to have a learning feature to be able to accomplish this through specially assigned buttons to navigate through samsungs source menu.

aside from this minor flaw and other peoples complaints of no speakers. i see no reason why i couldnt call this the perfect television.
