The Bottom Line:
Like the monitor and will have to wait and see how the refurbished (?) unit performs before I pass final judgment on the product. Samsung needs to revisit service!
Four + months after buying I was very pleased with the performance of this monitor until it just died! No power, nothing and in the middle of a very important word document. Fortunately I had my old (dying) Compaq to fall back on. Contacted Samsung and got the following response-1.) I could take it or ship it to the nearest repair center which turned out to be far from my home (at my expense) or 2.) accept a refurbished (?) unit from Samsung as a replacement. Gee, all that after buying a brand new one from Circuit City? Catch on the refurbished unit was that I had to charge $250 on my credit card to get the refurbished unit shipped but would be reimbursed once Samsung received the dead unit back from me. Oh, and I had to pay the shipping for return of the dead unit! My rating is based upon Samsung's incredibly poor warranty service and not on the monitor (as long as it works). I will write another review after 1.) I receive my refurbished replacement for my dead brand new one, 2.) get my $250 back and 3.) the refurbished unit lasts longer than the brand new one I originally purchased. We'll see?
