The Bottom Line:
If you want Blu-Ray at a great price, this is the player for you.
I recently purchased the BD-P1600 on sale for $149 at Best Buy. I also own the Oppo BDP-83 for my home theater, so needless to say, I'm used to that high level of performance and features.
I purchased the 1600 as a "low end" player for my family room, but once I got it home, I was pleased to find that its features are not low-end. I was intrigued by the on-line capabilities, especially Pandora and NetFlix. Not having a network connection readily available in my family room, I went back to Best Buy and purchased the "wifi dongle" to connect it wirelessly to my home network. The wifi setup was relatively painless (not counting the lengthy process of keying my 18-digit wifi access code via the limited remote control input!!). Then the setup of Pandora was quite simple, and even my techno-phobic wife is now regularly enjoying the music service.
I called Samsung tech support on a minor question, and found them to be very prompt, courteous and efficient, via both web chat, as well as via phone.
I would highly recommend this player for anyone who wants a Blu-Ray player with an advanced feature set, at an entry level price.
