Overall, we were pleased with the Samsung home theater when playing CDs, but trouble started when we tried to play a rental DVD from Netflix. So far, we have not viewed a single movie on our "new" player (purchased to get better sound with our new HD TV). We have tried five rental discs in the new Samsung. None will play. Two have been returned to Netflix and supposedly replaced, but the replacements won't play, either. In effect, our Netflix subscription is useless. Curiously, a demo DVD we borrowed from the local video shop plays fine. We put the new DVD player away and reinstalled our trusty Panasonic DVD player, which plays all the discs the Samsung refuses to recognize. We have tried getting help from Samsung (says it's Netflix's fault) and Netflix (says contact Samsung). No help from either source and no easy way to return the player, which was purchased "refurbished" on eBay.
