It's pretty darn good...
This is my fourth surround sound system. I think I have a fascination with them. My first one was a 5-disk Kawasaki system putting out only 135 watts. Okay, but beware
Overall, I really like the Samsung HT-P38 except for a cheaply assembled DVD player; several discs it will not recognize (even some brand new ones) and others it will play about half way through and then freeze. I sent it back to Samsung who supposedly "fixed" it and it worked fine for a few months... Read full review »
Good Home theater for the price, a few downsides
Overall, I am happy with this system. For the price, the system is definitely a good value. As an earlier review stated, many of these all-in-one systems are glorified shelf-systems with a DVD player. However, the ability to play DIVX, MP3, CD-R/CD-RW and JPEG discs is very nice.

If you're looking for great sound, this in not the one

This unit has a lot of bells and whistles for the price. The 800 watt sound output delivers high level crisp audio. The sub-woofer performs well even at low levels. I bought two of these systems as Christmas gifts for my husband and son. My sons works fine so far.
