Great monitor for anyone

The Bottom Line:
Buy it for Superior build quality,picture quality, 3-yr warranty, and easy-to-use controls. It also has dual-inputs- DVI and the 15-pin connector.
I needed to replace my CRTs with LCDs and I picked the Samsung SyncMaster 740B to replace my Samsung SyncMaster 750 crt.
I picked it because of the color, the dual DVI and 15-pin connectors, 3 year warranty, and knowledge that Samsung is a top LCD manufacturer, who actually makes their own internal LCD panel.
The picture on the 740B is beautiful.
The controls are very easy to used and placed very appropriately unlike other monitors. For example, even some other samsungs have the controls placed on the underside of the monitor. The controls on the 740B are mounted on the front.
Another thing about the Samsung 740B is its build quality. The monitor feels less flimsy than other lcd monitors like ones put out by Acer and cheaper brands. It is not as sturdy as the Sony LCD monitors.
Since using the 740B, my eyes have become much happier. I don't strain to read anything and everything is bright( It is amazing how bright it can be adjusted to), sharp(at native resolution (1280x1024), and easy to read.
The only thing I wish samsung would have done would to have what the HP LCD monitors have- Power-on hours counter. It would be nice to have, but it isnt needed. The monitor could also have had a pivot feature and height-adjustability. Even though the Samsung does not have the Power-on hours counter and adjustability, the Samsung 740b makes up for it with its superior picture, brightness, and build quality.
