Trying to embrace the upcoming changes to HDTV can make you feel like the proverbial pig with an apple in his mouth at a luau. It's can be a budget buster but this unit is a great start. I'm not a technical person so this TV was a godsend as it is easy to set up for Progressive Scanning on the DVD and for HDTV when the Direct TV people came to install. We use this unit for Karaoke too and I found nothing lacking in the sound quality or picture. And yes, the HDTV does make a world of difference, especially on sporting events.
