The Bottom Line:

The Samsung TX-P2775H best 27inch Flat Tube HDTV
Other Brands considered:
Panasonic and Philips
Panasonic: good hi definition television yet no internal HD tuner and some slight noise issues (emits buzzing sound more so than other sets)
Philips: lack of a three line comb filter, no 3:2 film correction, very low quality progressive scan conversion, horrible over scan bounce, bad color saturation, and unbelievable geometric distortion.
Picture Quality 10 out of 10:
Overall the picture quality of the TX-P2775H is excellent with almost no geometric distortion (if any is detected it is attributed to the velocity scanning of the set). Over scan bounce (or blooming as some people call this) is when the picture displayed exhibits signs of shrinkage when very bright images are displayed. The over scan bounce is undetectable on the TX-P2775H, even when displaying purely white aspects of a scene. Color is rendered faithfully on the all the units inputs and the integrated HDTV digital tuner. The red push upon this unit is very good after the user adjusts the color warmth to cool (red push is when too much red is displayed in an image because artificial image enhancements are in place). The TX-P2775H up converts all images into a progressive scan single and then uses an advanced 8 Bit 20 MHz 3D Y/C Comb Filter to clean up image noise, the result is a perfectly clean and flicker free image from all inputs. The former features listed combine to give the best possible picture from connected game consoles and video sources.
Sources tested and given image quality:
Progressive scan DVD player Panasonic S55 (connected via component input one): Image quality is very high with very good color rendering and sharpness. Impressive color neutrality and a very stable flicker free image are experienced using the former configuration.
Playstation 2 and Game cube (connected via composite input 1 on rear of set through a generic switch box): Again the 8 Bit 20 MHz 3D Y/C Comb Filter and progressive scanning produce stunning color clarity, RPG's exhibit clear non distorted/solid text. No sing of flicker or over scan bounce could be detected, geometric distortion was undetectable.
Internal analog tuner (connected to cable television): All channels that came in clearly look fairly good for standard definition; again flicker free images and very good color were demonstrated.
Internal digital tuners (connected to standard indoor antenna): The TX-P2775H is one of the few HD sets on the market that come equipped with an ATSC high definition digital tuner; all you need to do is connect an antenna. Television stations that had HD content at the time looked stunning; the viewer witnesses perfect color rendering, realistic image depth, and unbelievable resolution.
All the above input sources demonstrated no visible detection of scan lines.
Audio Quality (7 out of 10):
One of the lacking parts of all television sets including this one is the lack of high quality sound from the internal speakers. BBE (artificial sound enhancement) helps the speakers inside of the set become a little richer and fuller in sound quality. A digital out port (optical) and analog stereo ports can be found on the rear of the unit for connectivity to a better sound system. A great deal of user customizability for sound options is apparent by presets and a graphic equalizer. In all for being integrated speakers, the sound quality is acceptable.
Features (10 out of 10):
The TX-P2775H comes with many input connection including: 2 sets of component HDTV inputs (1080i/720p/480i-p), DVI, standard composite / s video, and 2 integrated tuners that can receive ATSC singles (HD) with out a separate decoder. This is one of the few sets on the market being 27 inches that supports a 720p input (scales it up to 1080i). Also the Samsung TX-P2775H is very quiet, no high pitch sound can be detected and no buzz is audible during its operation.
Build Quality (10 out of 10): The Samsung TX-P2775H seems to be built surprising well demonstrating high quality components and an exceptionally sturdy chassis. This set is built to last giving years of trouble free performance. The sets quality comes from its internal components being manufactured from Korea (almost as good as Japanese quality).
Pro's: perfect picture quality, build quality, features, integrated HDTV, progressive scan converter, very quiet
Con's: Heavy, low sound quality from internal speakers
Bottom line: Best HDTV set that can be purchased in the area of 27inch flat tube televisions.
