Was it just bad luck?

Pros Excellent picture quality, bang for the buck. Depth is only ~13 inches.
Cons "Magnet Spots" on 2 different sets.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  I loved everything about the television and really wanted to keep it, but after 2 different sets with "magnet spots", I gave up on it.
I'll try and keep this quick, as the previous review already covers most of the TV's good and bad. My experience with this tv was extremely negative.

I bought the set on a Saturday night from Best Buy for $850. Get the TV home, plug my Comcast HD cable box to it via dvi to hdmi cable, and was blown away by the picture quality... after I figured out that the only way to switch the tv to component/hdmi sources was via the TV's setup menu.

After watching for a few hours with my kids, I notice 2 "magnet spots" getting increasingly more defined in the right-hand corners of the television (facing the television, my right-hand side). I start to get worried, and turn off the TV for about an hour. Fire it back up and they are still there. There isn't anything around the television...

With some help of my little brother, we pack up the tv and exchange it the next day (Sunday @ 11:00am) at the same Best Buy I bought it from. After 30-45 minutes of the GeekSquad guy "inspecting, de-magnetizing" it, I finally get the newly exchanged tv home, unpacked, setup, etc...

This one didn't have any magnet spots that I could see, started watching Mystic River on it... halfway through the movie, I see 2 "magnet spots" appearing. 1 in the top right hand corner, another in the bottom left hand corner... By the time the movie is done, I'm angry/frustrated with the tv, pack it up, return it for all of my money back.

So, if you buy one of these televisions, look for these "magnet spots" carefully when you get it home. You can see them best on a picture with bright/white backgrounds, although they do make black backgrounds purplish.
