The Bottom Line:
Don't buy until you have compaird this set to the similar set by Sony.
I have owned this tv for over a month. The first one was defective and I took it back for an exchange. I have a Sony Braio flat screen in the living room and the Samsung hangs on the wall in the bedroom. I watch the same program on the Samsung and 3 year old Sony, and I hate to say it, but the Sony is a more realistic and better picture. If I could take the Samsung back I would. Sony is coming out with the same type thin HD tv this Christmas season, and I would compare the pictures and shop the price. I am afraid to do that because I know I will like the truer, less artificial picture of the Sony. Don't get me wrong, if I did not have the Sony to compare. I would not know the difference. The Samsung is very good but not as good as Sony. The salesman told me t that but I had seen so many reviews that raved about the Samsung I chose to ignore the salesman. When you change stations on the Samsung the picture adjusts for 3 seconds or more and when you are running the station that is annoying. My Sony has no hesitation when the picture is changed. The picture is more artificial in the Samsung. Also, the sound is adequate, not great. The sound comes out the back side and hits the wall and bouces out. My Sony has speakers on the front and the are excellent. Just from the sound issue, I would not buy this set. Also, my wife likes me to come to bed and watch tv while she falls asleep. I have always worn headphones and I like the stereo sound. The Samsung does not provide for headphones. I did not realize that when I bought. I feel like I did not do a very good job researching this set. I recommend that you wait until the comparable Sony is out and then compare. and you decide.
