Sansa 4GB MP3 player internet radio and more!

Pros inexpensive and loaded with features
Cons internal speaker can not provide full range sound
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Great value for MP3 music file, photos, and internet radio access!
The Sandisk Sansa 4GB MP3 player is a very nice product and delivers more than expected. The internal 4GB memory holds thousands of songs and photos. The expansion slot allows you to have LIMITLESS memory by keeping an extension library on portable disks. That's something Ipod units do not offer.
The big change with this player is the Wi-Fi capable access. You can download songs from any Wi-Fi connection...such as at a Starbucks or any other place that has wireless internet access. Home wireless systems work fine and your free Yahoo ID allows you access to the internet radio system! Recorded downloads are available with a monthly subscription with Yahoo Music...no cards to buy with limited downloads! Pay a monthly service fee and download to your heart's content.
You can still record all you own songs to the unit and keep your own library just like any other MP3 player.
Back to the internet radio stations...FREE! Chose a catagory from among many themes...70's, 80's, 90's, jazz, contemporary, kid stuff, etc,etc,etc...and play music with zero commercial interruptions. This service is free to use and you can plug the Sansa into a main home stereo player for concert hall sound!
For private listening and on the go, you always have the familiar "earbuds". Another BIG plus is the internal speaker in the Sansa that allows you to play music WITHOUT using earbuds. The sound is very good however volume is limited to lower levels(not surprising considering the low wattage in the small player). Still...very nice feature for those who hate wearing those little earphones all the time.
You also get another freebie with Flicker Photos. The unit receives 50 interesting "photos of the day" to brouse while listening to your favorite tunes.
The thumb scroll control is easy to navigate and has an "apple computer" screen appearance with the changing icons. The rechargeable battery lasts a long time and can be charged through the USB cord on your computer...or the AC adapter (included).Soft case comes with the Sansa MP3 player anong with earbuds and carry strap.
It's a real value and well worth the price, which has dropped quite a bit from the $250 original list price. You can find these units for as little as $50-$75. Sandisk has a winner here that is very under exposed in the market.
We have an ipod...but I prefer the Sansa. The Sansa does not work with the Ipod system, but the Yahoo Music site organizes and allows downloads of the same songs and gets you the music you like at a fraction of the cost.
