Sansui LCD TVs
Pros
Good picture, when you get it
Cons
Very poor tuner, very weak, very very weak. Did I say its weak.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Do not buy for over the air TV, tuner is extremely weak, will not pick up all the stations
If you receive your TV signal from an over the air antenna, do not buy a Sansui TV, I repeat DO NOT BUY SANSUI. I have 2 of them, a 26" and a 19" and the tuners are extremely weak. I have my whole house wired for TV but couldn't get the CBS and FOX stations any where but in the living room on my LG TV. I assumed their signals were weaker and didn't make it through the wiring, until I started hooking up converters to other TVs and my DVD recorder upstairs and found they came through on all those. So I hooked up converters to both Sansui's and found I then got all the stations. So a cheap digital converter has a better tuner than the Sansui. But what good is a digital receiving TV if you have to run it through a converter to get the signal and so lose the HD. The picture is good on the TV but I will be looking to get rid of the two I have. They are also extremely slow at changing channels, much more than the LG, which is slow. Also, when I tune back to channel 2, it almost always loses the sound. I have to do a quick flip to another station and quickly back to 2 to get the sound, and sometimes the sound goes away while 2 is on.
