Sega Genesis Black Console

I only recently acquired a Genesis system from a friend whose kids no longer played it. After I cleaned it and the 3 games that he had it works just fine. This is the original Sega Genesis that has the headphone jack, not the 2nd gen one that is in the picture here. I was able to carefully take apart the controllers and clean them with qtips and rubbing alcohol and they work good as new and are far cleaner. I also cleaned what I could of the system without taking it apart. I might try to clean it later after I get some more games for it. The games for the Genesis were awesome for their time. They are still being emulated on various platforms ranging from PCs to consoles like the PS2 and WII. That alone proves that the system is worth having. You can buy one cheap from ebay or a pawn shop, clean it up and get some more games from ebay and play the heck out of them. The controlls are simpler than the later systems only having 3 main buttons and a Directional Pad. Some later controllers had more buttons but most I have seen have just 3 main buttons and Start and I think Select. After Febuary of 2009 most old TVs will only be good for video games unless you buy a special tv tuner box. So stock up now. Or if you already have old video game systems just wait and get an older big screen TV from a pawn shop for little money.
