If you ask me, it does NOT work!
Pros
Compact Size. Sleek design. Cool Silver color. Cordless option. Compass feature.
Cons
Very bad range. Didn't detect a direct laser hit. Compass feature needs constant aligning.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
My conclusion: It looks pretty and promises alot. However, it does NOT deliver. Stay Away.
I picked this up earlier this year. I was thrilled by the compact size and the fact that it is cordless. I found the compass feature pretty cool too! It has a nice sleek design and nice silver color. It is also economically priced for all the features they list, especially if you pick up the RX7500 model which is practically identical except for the compass feature.
Then I got it home. I have had it several months and I can tell you the range sucks!! The other day I actually had visual with the Police car at the same time the Ka warning went off. If I had been speeding I would've had a nice ticket! Otherwise it rarely goes off, except a few false laser alarms as I pass the local airport. They say that once you get hit by laser and the warning goes off, that its too late- you are taking the ticket! Well, I took the ticket and I am still waiting for the laser alert to go off..and that was three months ago!
Finally, I must say that the compass feature needs constant aligning. If you decide to remove it from your windshield when you park your car, you will wind up realigning it 90% of the time. (Imagine how ridiculous you will look doing the required 360 degree turn in the parking lot of the local mall so you can get it aligned before you drive home!)
