TV screen blacks out after a years use.

As other have said the screen will die in and around the 13 - 16 month period. I have the exact same problem. Screen will just go black. Have to turn off, wait, turn back on again; sometimes this fixes the problems other times it does not. I do not have extended warranty so will have to see about fixing it. As it stands this appears to be a recall issue and Sharp should be held accountable for this problem since it is all too common. There should be some kind of legal precedent that would hold Sharp responsible, if it can be proven this problem exists with numerous televisions of the same model??? I am going to look in to what can be done to put an end to Sharp selling inferior products with known issues. Anyone else care to join in on a class action against them concerning this specific problem and television set?
