The Bottom Line:
Avoid Sharp LCD TV's. They do not last. I made an expensive mistake. Hopefully, you don't.
If you’re like me, you don’t have money to throw away. After saving up money and months of research I decided on this LCD TV. If your reading this, you are probably like me, doing research before you buy the TV. The response time and refresh rates have you thinking that Sharp is a good deal, right. I can assure you from experience with my LCD TV that you’ll end up making a mistake if you purchase a Sharp TV. Even though it was $2400, I figured, hey, it’s a Sharp, it should last. Almost exactly a year and half after I bought it, the TV started to malfunction. The bottom half is now brighter than the top half. There seems to be a line directly in the middle of the screen, which divides the screen in two shades of brightness. So I called sharp, and they stuck to their warranty. Their warranty is exactly a year, not a day more. Look, if this was some $100 DVD player, I wouldn’t be writing this review, but the fact is that it’s not. This mistake cost me $2400 plus tax. I tried to reason with the people at Sharp, but they just hid behind their 1 year warrant, which lets face it, nobody thinks will come into play with a Sharp LCD TV that costs over $2400. Truth is I have an Apex TV which I bought for $120 over five years ago which still functions as it did on the first day. I don’t care what brand you go with as I don’t work for a electronics company, but for your sake, I hope it’s not Sharp. Hopefully this review will save some of you money. Good luck.
