Finally, a MiniDisc Player/Recorder for the Masses
I bought my 722 in August 2001 off of uBid.com. I had debated a MiniDisc player vs. an MP3 player for quite awhile. I decided on MiniDisc because blank 70 minute discs only cost about $4 while 64 megs for an mp3 player costs upwards of $120 or more. Honestly, I went with the 722 because the price... Excellent value for the money
I purchased my Sharp 722 in February, 2000 from buy.com and took advantage of the $50 rebate being offered from Sharp. Up to this day, I have not been disappointed with that investment. I purchased the unit to upgrade from the Sharp 702 player I'd purchased in July, 1999, which I had since sold to... Read full review »
A Step Up from its Predecessors
I purchased the Sharp MD-MS722 because my previous MD Player, the MD-MT15 had met its demise. However, using my MD-MS722 made me realize the shortcomings of my previous player.
For one, my MD-MT15 bought it while working out at the gym. The MD-MT15 has no kind of device that lets you keep...

Technology Meets Music Head On
(Written by my 16-year-old son)
The Sharp MD-MS722. One word. WOW. It was about four months ago when I became aware of the mini disc technology. I knew right away that I needed to get one, so I began to do my homework.
I began to compare various players, sizing up features such as...

Awesome Cheap Minidisc w/ $50 rebate!
I bought this product recently to find there was also a $50 rebate to its normal $239 price tag. Therefore the pricetag becomes a great $189, making it one of the cheapest minidisc recorders out there. However the rebate only lasts till 4/1/00 so get it soon!
With such a low price,...

Sony MZ-R50 Over Sharp MD-MS702/722 and Sony MZ-R55
When I was in the market for a portable MD recorder, the two main choices that stood out for me were the Sharp MS-702 or MS-722 and the Sony MZ-R50. The MZ-R55 had not been released in the US yet. This is an excellent recorder. It has digital input with sample rate conversion (optical only,... Read full review »
Mega Performance - Mini Price!
It's rare to find products these days that deliver on their marketing promises. The Sharp MD-MS722 delivers a whole lot more! If you've avoided minidisc technology because you heard that sound quality was compromised in order to compress more sound on a smaller disc, it's time to re-evaluate that... Read full review »
Basically shoddy
I've had a Sharp 722 MiniDisk unit for 21 months and it is as good as the specifications say, but I'd definitely say DO NOT BUY it.
Allowing recording from both Digital-Optical line in and also a mike jack the Sharp 722 is versatile enough to use as your first introduction to MiniDisk, but the...

Never buy CD's Again
I love music, let's get that out of the way right now. Until I had purchased my minidisc player, I never left my house without my walkman (of course now I don't leave without my MD). I have shoeboxes full of tapes, some on the verge of disintegration. So when I saw that minidiscs were actually... Read full review »
MD is NOT for music
This is my first experience with MD technology, and thus I cannot
compare this product with other MD players. Based on the fact that
this product is highly recommended, I may assume that it represents
the current status of MD technology.
First, the rumor that MD's sound quality...
