The Sharp MT821 is a real winner
Review: Sharp MD-MT821
Mp3 vs MiniDisc:
I decided that my CD player was no good. It was only $40, it was from a no name company, and it scratched all my CD's as it played them. The CD player ate a fully charged set of 2 AA batteries in approximately 4 hours, and I was fed-up...

Pricey, but Worth it!
I am an airline pilot. I bought this to use for workouts, jogging, skiing, traveling, rollerblading, cycling. I'd use it to play golf if they'd let me. I spent the additional money to buy a recordable one because I switched all of my car stereos to Minidisk players, thus had no device to record... Read full review »

Compact with Quality
I was in the market for a new portable audio device to help provide the necessary tempo for workouts, jogs, and relaxation, I found a very reliable one in the Sharp MD player.
Remember the pioneer days of MD, you had to buy the recorder, not anymore, you can download them online or go to...

Great Audio Range
I was looking for something to allow me to listen to the multitude of MP3s stored on my Server without sitting in front of my PC, or the home stereo.
Right now there are 3 choices:
MP3 player i.e. Rio or Nomad II
CD/MP3 player i.e. Pineusa or Mambo
MD unit i.e. the Sharp...

Forget the Rio, use this for your MP3s
i got this MD player as a gift, in Hong Kong. It was nowhere near as expensive as its listed here.
I'll tell you what I use this for. I hook it up to my computer and I use it to record my MP3s. I can get about 20 songs onto a disc. They sound great. The bass boost on the player is...

Great little unit...
Okay, okay, so I got a great deal on my Sharp MD-MT821 when I bought it second hand from a Japanese friend. That does not in any way diminish my regard for this little machine. It's a ton of fun and if you stop reading this review right here, just know that after about two weeks of research and... Read full review »
best md player ever!
I have 3 minidisc players/recorders, the Sony r55, the sharp 821, and 2 others including a new sony mdlp net md recorder. The oldest out of the 4, the sharp 821, is the best by far. its the nicest looking, most solid, and one of the smallest. and its 5 yrs old now. my r55 is 4 yrs, and its getting... Read full review »
IT WON'T BREAK!
I got this MD player (looks the same as the picture) August 00' after a vacation to Hong Kong, so I brought back a Japanese Spec version. Even without instructions I figured out how to work this thing. I'm not that tech savvy, so I think Sharp created a very nice simple product.
If you...

Goodbye Discman, Hello Minidisc!
My uncle bought me the MT821 in Taiwan for $250. I had asked him to get that model because my friend had it and I really liked it. Also, the Sonys tend to be a bit too expensive, and some of them are just plain ugly. Well, when my uncle said that he was coming to visit, I asked him to grab me a... Read full review »
