Lots of power for such a little unit!
Pros
Great sound. Compact design.
Cons
Annoying CD shuffle at startup/shutoff.

We bought a Sharp XL-DK255 about a month ago to replace our 1992 Sharp stereo whose CD player quit. We wanted a conservatively designed (no bright or shiny colors) small stereo tuner/CD with an auxiliary input for our VHS/DVD player. We shopped at several stores and this one fit the bill best of any we saw.
In short, we've found the sound quality to be amazing; so much clarity and separation from a little two-way speaker system. It is so good that it prompted me to write my first review here.
The design is a bit eclectic: the speakers are a little taller than the stereo unit and have a completely different finish, like they weren't designed to be together. The unit also has a somewhat annoying startup/shutdown procedure, where it shuffles through the CD's. But don't let any of that keep you from giving this a try.
