The Bottom Line:
Try a demo unit before you buy. Check with the dealer about service and reliability before you buy.
I've owned other Sharp projectors that function flawlessly. This one is questionable. The major concern is with long term reliability. In addition, the unit appears to be somewhat fragile for a portable notebook projector. Sometimes it works flawlessly the next time it just quits. It is very disturbing when it quits during a presentation. There are only 25-30 hours on the lamp yet it periodically flickers and then quits working. It is supposed to run for 2000 hours. Unit is 6 months old but the lamp is only warrantied for 3 months. Replacement cost for a new lamp is about $500. Small type fonts are hard to read. Unit gets hot and fan is somewhat noisy. However it does produce a bright image. I especially like the preset gamma adjustment but I will likely be looking for a new projector soon.
