Sidekick LX Hiptop

Pros internet is okay, speakerphone good quality, screen very clear
Cons camera is horrible
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Pretty good device, but if you don't need to read any MS word documents, adobe files, or anything else than this is a pretty good deal
I had heard abou this phone back during the summer of 2007. I was curious about them and went into a Tmobile store and asked some questions about them. I became interested in them and signed up via email to get an early alert on when they would release. I received an email in early October about 1 week before they were to officially launch and they had a deal where you could get it before other people and at a cheaper price. Well since I had been with Tmobile since 2002 I never upgraded my phone via throughTmobile before and thought it was time to give it a chance.

I received my phone on October 20, and put it all together, it seemed to work ok out the box and only had one minor issue that I had to go to a Tmobile store to fix but beyond that it's worked okay. from time to time it might power cycle itself off but that happens maybe once a month. Making phonecalls was a bit of challenge at first because I'm used to slider and flip up phones. That would be probably one of my main gripes that i wish the screen was touch sensative. Being able to get on to the different IM messengers is a huge plus as well as the Myspace application which I can not live without.

The interent is okay but it still needs improvements. I wish I could get on secure websites like Bank of America's mobile website, but unfortuntely it states the browser doesn't meet their security standards, yet my Verizon Chocolate can access the website just fine. Also the speed could stand some serious tweeking. the option to download other applications is a nice touch but I wish you could download your own personal screensaver when you cycle through the features you wish to access. Not just the screensaver section when you are not using the phone.

the speaker phone is very good and so is the battery life. the email option is a nice touch but I wish it could sync with ACTIVE SYNC and microsoft application. Yet since microsoft bought Danger, hopefully that will be on the new device. Overall a good buy, if you still want the 2way device style feel but a more mature version. Then the LX is the way to go.
