A decent cheap VCR
Pros
Very cheap; durable; Decent playback quality.
Cons
Not especially attractive, but who cares?
Recommended it?
Yes
I helped pick this VCR out for a friend of mine 3 years ago; the main selling point was that it was really cheap ($40 if I recall) but had an excellent warranty. I have to say the thing has held up surprisingly well considering how cheap it was. In spite of regular use it hasn't had any problems, and works as well as it did new.
Picture quality is good, so far as VHS goes- there's no obvious difference with more expensive VCRs I've used. It's a 4-head model. It's fairly well-constructed, with a plastic/metal case and sturdy buttons. It's not the most attractive piece of electronics I've ever seen, but for the price one can't complain. The only real complaint is that it in picture mode it rewinds and fastforwards *very* slowly.
So, on the whole, not bad at all: A perfectly satisfactory VCR for dirt cheap.
By the way, the model reviewed is a VC-A410, not A410U. I don't know what difference there is, if any.
