A little bit about our VCR?..
We use the VCR in our home everyday. My daughter uses it to watch all of her favorite videos and I use it to record my favorite ABC soap operas everyday. I bought this VCR online from Mercata.com in December of 1999 and am completely satisfied with it.
My Favorite Features?..
One of my favorite features with this VCR is plugging it in and having it automatically set the time for me! This VCR receives the Daylight Savings Time Signal from radio signals in the air! I never have to set the time on this VCR which is a treat to me because the electricity goes out here frequently.
One of my other favorite features includes the fast rewind. When you stop the VCR from playing a tape and press the rewind button, it only takes 52 seconds for the tape to rewind. The fast forward button also has two speeds, which is helpful to fast forward through all those television commercials. A major advantage to watching the soaps on tape verses watching them in real time.
I don?t care for this?..
One thing about this VCR that I do not care for is the direction for using the timer-recording feature. They seem to be overly complicated to me, and I have to use the instruction manual whenever I want to use this feature. I only use this feature once a week, perhaps if I used it more I would get used to it but for now that is the only drawback I can see.

This VCR can monitor and use time signals (EDS signals) which are provided by some TV stations, to automatically adjust the VCR clock. This VCR automatically searches for the EDS signals, but if you are in a hurry to use timer recording or know the channel of the EDS signal carrier in your area, you can follow the procedures in the manual for this.

The menu screen is a home screen used to select various screen functions. A submenu appears once you select an item for the menu. You can change timer recording, VCR operating conditions, channel preset, the clock and the language from this mode. You can do all of that with an easy On Screen Display. The OSD facilitates the operation and checks the current VCR mode information.

Auto Tracking Control System ? This function automatically adjusts the tracking to match the recorded tape. Manual Tracking Control is available as well.
Digital Program Search System (DPSS) ? Quickly locates the beginning of a specific recording
Skip Search ? Quickly operates a forward video search in 30 second intervals, them resumes play back
Instant Replay ? Quickly operates a reverse video search in 20 second intervals, then resumes playback
Auto Zero Back ? Quickly finds ?0:00.00 point and tops there.
Recorded Section Auto Repeat ? Continually plays back a recorded section of the tape

Tamper Proof ? Prevents accidental change of the operation mode

2 speed Fast Forward and Rewind There are two search speeds in each directions, the VCR switches between them each time the button is pressed.

This has been a good VCR for my family and me. We use it everyday and it receives a lot of wear and tear. I would recommend this VCR to my friends and family.
