long live Sharp's value for money policy

I have bought many VCRs in the past twenty years and most brands. I have always been disappointed by the graininess of most of the ones I have used. No matter how much I have paid for what are, basically, domestic machines the quality has never been what I would call 'excellent'.
With the advent of digital television and DVD that shortfall in quality has been even more noticable. However, and this is a BIG however, this new Sharp machine is quite a remarkable one.
Not only is the picture quality better than I have encountered on a domestic machine, but the tuning and set-up is equal to the picture. I have at time been hard pressed to discern much of a difference between a recording on the Sharp VC-A588U and a digital picture. Quite a feat. I have decided that I shall keep a close eye on Sharp in the future and not buy anything until I see what they have to offer.
