This VCR is it! Once you have the "rapid rewind" feature, you'll never go back!
The absolute best thing about this VCR is the "rapid rewind" feature. It caught me off guard the first time I tried to rewind a video, and it still catches my friends off guard: it's as if all of the horrific, squealing carnivorous dinosaurs from the Jurrasic Park movies have been let loose in your VCR. But guess what? It's done rewinding in a minute or two, at most. It's actually quite exciting. The speed at which it rewinds is amazing; even if I'm watching a movie on our other VCR, which is in another part of the house, it's worth the effort to run upstairs just to rewind on the super-fast Sharp machine.
The remote is pretty cool, too. Although it's not tiny, it is lightweight. The remote does have a few of those "extra" buttons which I never take the time to figure out how to use, but not too many. Extra buttons may be confusing and annoying to some, or really cool gadgets to others. I'm indifferent, although I am a huge fan of the "slow" button, for those gotta-have slow-motion moments.
