The Bottom Line:
A great everyday VCR.
I paid about $150 for his a little over a year ago and it was money well spent. For a standard VCR I give this the highest complement I can... it draws no attention to itself. In a year plus of very heavy use it has not failed to do anything. The high speed rewind along with high speed shuttle is a welcome feature. The 19 micron head gives it good slow-mo and slp record performance.
As noted, it lacks a jog/shuttle dial on the remote and record level controls. OTOH, it's hard to fault Sharp for this as these are features that are normally found on more upscale units. Record performance has been quite good and picture quality has been good too, even with rental tapes. The front mounted inputs make quick dubs much easier.
