FREE AT LAST FREE AT LAST THANK GOD ALMIGHTY FREE AT LAST!!

Pros it's SHARP
Cons It doesn't have 12:00 flashing all the time, I feel lost
Recommended it? Yes
I wandered home today and what should I find sitting wrapped in plastic on my deck?
Not the tree loot monkey! Not even a Rosie doll.

Since I am in the VCR section, and specifically the SHARP VC-H993U, I bet you know what I found. FINALLY IT ARRIVED!!

Let me tell you, this is a huge improvement over my old VCR which was retired tonight. The old one works, in fact, it is impressive that it worked at all after all it has been through, But I will save that story for a review on it.

But we are talking about the SHARP VCR now.
People crack on SHARP products, I know, I have electronic fanatic friends. They are wrong! Granted I am evaluating this after only about one day of ownership but I am impressed.

1st impression upon opening it was, this is cheap. Why? Because it is mostly plastic and not heavy at all.

Oh how wrong the First impression was. So what if it is about a third of the size of my old one and not almost completely metal. It outperforms it!

I hooked it up, here is all I had to do:
1) Plug in the cable tv wire and then the one going to the TV
2) Plug in power cord.
3) Stick batteries that actually came with the controller into it.
4) wait

The VCR did it all by itself. It set itself up, HOW COOL IS THAT?
It went through all the cable channels scanned the ones that come in and stuck them all in, I didn't have to adjust anything to make them come in. (No, I am not yet cool enough to have direct tv)
I just left the thing alone and watched as the numbers counted up to over 100. Then it switched and looked for a station that had the time so it could set the clock on its' own. It would have done this, But we don't have one of those channels here. (Did I mention I hate my cable system)

Anyway the VCR has all these super SHARP special functions.
SHARP SUPER PICTURE, actually creates a clearer picture on playback of recorded stuff. The crazy thing works too! I don't know how, but it actually does.

RECORDED SECTION AUTO REPEAT
This is something that finds blank tape after a recorded section, after 15 seconds of blank stuff it stops wasting your time and rewinds to the beginning and plays again. Talk about great for lazy people! I don't even have to look for the remote anymore.

AUTO ZERO BACK
Reset the counter before you record something to Zero, and then when you are done, it will rewind only to that point, so you don't have to waste time looking for that program you recorded somewhere in the middle of your tape.

Digital Program Search System
I can't figure it out, but apparently some tapes have index signals on them and you can go real fast to certain points on them with this function, sounds sort of like an 8 track player.

Skip Search
Just hit the Skip Search button and I can go forward in half minute increments and then it plays on its own. I can SKIP SEARCH up to 2 minutes.

INSTANT REPLAY
This guy in a black and white striped shirt runs over to a tv monitor, stares at it for about 5 minutes, and then doesn't change the call of the play on the field.
Actually, it is like Skip Search only for reverse.

TAMPER PROOF
Another thing that I won't touch. But it is for stopping kids from seeing certain channels when you aren't around. As if they won't figure out to unhook the VCR and bypass it altogether. I mean seriously, Kids are smarter than we are when it comes to this stuff.

Of course this does everything else a normal VCR does, like play, fast forward, rewind, record, pause and stop. It has timer record also, but that is to complicated for me. It also has AUTO HEAD CLEANING. Or at least the box says it does. I don't know how that works, but getting heads cleaned is a good thing.

What makes this the best VCR ever?
IT FINALLY SHOWED UP.
This is the VCR I ordered from WWW.IWIN.COM back in December.
I won it, I saved my 10,000 icoins. I have over 14,000 still left, and they changed the site to only raffles, so I cannot get another VCR. That stinks.
Totally.
But my VCR is SHARP!
