The Bottom Line:
There are better products available, but the door is neat.
I wouldn't say that this item is a waste of plastic. After all, some lights come on, the CD spins, the radio tunes, and the neat door opens but that's about it. Oh yes it does produce sounds.
The sound quality is extremely poor. The buttons on the remote are very small and placed too close together. The radio reception is hardly impressive.
I do like that it is wall mountable and it appeared that all the hardware was provided.
For the money I think there are better units available. This unit might work well in an office or a kid's room but that is about it.
