Nice backup stereo, but with a major drawback

If you're particular about how your music sounds, this is not a great system. Music sounds tinny and flat, and though there is a surround sound option and an equalizer, this is not a stereo that gives great sound. Even when I replaced the speakers with good Sony speakers, the sound was only slightly improved.
The look is sleek and clean, with a fun color-changing background. esthetically, the piece is well-designed, with the exception of the remote control which is small and slim but hard to use and doesn't have a great range.
There is no need to pay full price for this item; The Sharper Image often has auctions on ebay where you can find this for around $40.00.
