Although it occasionally cuts out, there is one room in my house where this radio works in its home base. I ran the antenna out a south window to a porch where it can face west. This is because they don't tell you before you buy it that you need a west window to make it work. I have none.
But I really bought it for the car. When it kept cutting out (well, really, cutting in as it was mostly out)I bought a new antenna. It worked even less well. Someone from Sirius sales suggested I buy a new base. I did, and that doesn't work either. It just sits there saying "acquiring signal."
I thought it didn't work because we were too far East (coastal Maine), and it did work better in Massachusetts, but the person I spoke to at Sirius lived in Nova Scotia so I am at a loss. Someone else told me it was because we had too may trees. Well, duh! I live in Maine.
