After my grandmother lost my walkman I was devastated, and wondered how would I ever live without it. Though as she gave me a check I was set on getting a new sony walkman. Though as I walked past an aisle in Fry's I saw the Diamond Rio PMP300 in the corner of my eyes. It was on sale as well with exactly the amount of money my grandmother gave me $90. That price is beyond reasonable for an Mp3 player of todays ages. I have seen it being retailed at over 150 make sure you shop around, and check your local electronics store before you shell out that much. I am going to tell the goods and the bads that make the Diamond Rio pmp300 what it is today.
Good
->It is reasonably priced compared to other brands mp3 players, such as D-link, Sony and others
-> Lightweight for easy storage and holding while exercising
*NOTE* A great idea for this items usage is to put on as many tracks as possible and then bring it to the gym. Your not at the gym that long so the songs won't be that repetitive.
-> Can hold up to 32 mb of ram, that is generally from 7-8 songs depending on the size of the Mp3 files.
-> Has easy user interface, easily readable and feelable if your player is at the bottom of your pocket
Bads
-> Once i accidentally dropped it, and it was broken ever since. Whenever i would turn the player on it would turn off, and when i moved it around it would turn off. As well as the hold button stopped functioning after some time.
-> A good and bad is that your limited up to 32 mb of ram, which is not much considering thats around 30 minutes of music play. With only 30 minutes if your going on a long distance trip the songs are bound to get annoying sooner or later.
-> The extra memory card you could buy for your rio was as expensive as the actual player. That came as a shock, I might as well just bought another player instead.
-> Everybody asks you what that is in class, and its a hassle to worry about losing it since everybody once one. Though a note* is that some people may like the fact that they can show off their new electronic device.
Conclusion
The product is a decent product, and i must commend diamond for having excellent customer support. I had a problem with my rio and they shipped another one but not free of charge. But they were really nice and easy to talk to on the phone. Which made me feel better about my mp3 player. Bottom line if you have the money get the Diamond Riopmp300 mpe player, if you don't go to target and get a cassette player with a radio.=)
