Bang for your Buck

Pros Many formats, anti-shock, customizeable, looks cool!
Cons No AM/FM radio
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  The SP90 offers enough features for all but those who have hundreds of thousands of songs. And for $80, the deal couldn't be sweeter.
This is the first and last MP3/CD player I will ever need.

Formats:

The SP90 accesses the CD just like a hard drive would. It recognizes CD Audio, WMA, MP3, and even MP3 PRO files. MP3 files works very well at all bitrates. I hate switching between 50 CDs to go from one song to the other, so later I burned a CD of 400+ songs with only MP3 PRO files. Where other MP3/CD files might misread the fairly new format, the SP90 is completely forward compatible with MP3 PRO, delivering CD quality music just like with MP3 files. I rarely use music CDs with it, but they sounds excellent too. The SP90 has all the formats you need to immerse yourself in your world of music.

Features:

What the SP 90 doesn't have is a plethora of buttons. It only has buttons you need to manage and listen to your music library. The +10 button is a godsend to scroll 10 songs at a time, especially when one CD has 400+ songs like mine, but it doesn't have a handy wheel like the iPod. The shock protection is great for those who want to take it on the road. It also has preset options like Bass and Rock.

Organization:

This player can read the author and title of each song, as long as you edit the ID3 tag of each MP3 or MP3 PRO file. This is extremely helpful when you want spend more time listening to a song then finding it. The player reads folders which makes it extremely easy to categorize your music collection by author, genre, date, etc.

Battery Life:

For an average user like me, the battery life is more than sufficient. Brand new batteries supply juice enough to use for 10 hours. If you use rechargeables, they last for 2 hours.
