Great shots, very stable

Pros Easy to Use, Excellent Picture Quality, Quality Construction, Rechargeable, Long Battery Life, Fast Shutter
Cons Bad in Low Light
Recommended it? Yes
Good For: Everyday Use, Travel, Outdoors, Home, Office
Overall a great DSLR that provides quality shots in most light.  I use it for action shots of boats and it works great.  I am usually shooting boats from a moving boat, so I needed a camera with good vibration reduction stabilazation and this one has it.  The extra battery is a great investment, as is a few Flash cards.  I use the 8GB card and I have not filled it up yet, but it does not have any internal memory, so if you happen to leave your card in the computer after a transfer you are out of luck if you want to snap a quick shot.

I would say that this camera is very comparable to the Cannon and Nikon counterparts, without the high price tag.  Real camera gurus will cringe at the name, Sony, but it takes quality shots and is a quality constructed camera.  There is nothing wrong with that!

The settings are pretty much auto, unless you really want to fiddle with them, but I have found it takes better pictures when you just let it do it's job.  Sometimes the flash is a little too strong and it blows out the subject, but for the most part is it OK.  I wish there was a flash defuser that would fit this model, but the aftermarket ones only fit Cannon & Nikon.

I also have the optional 75-200mm lens and it is not as exciting as the original lense that came with the body (18-70mm).  I find that most of my shots are better with the 18-70 lens when shooting action shots.  The 75-200 is slower and most of the time more blury with action.  It was fine with still shots though.

Overall -- if you want to save a few dollars and you don't care about having the big brand name, opt for the sony...or impress your friends and go with the Nikon.
