I've owned this TV for a year now and its a really great TV with a crisp picture. I don't have a blue ray player yet but watching movies on this with a regular DVD player is still very crisp & clear. (I'm not a techy at all but I do recognize a good TV when I see one)
Its definitely a great TV for the price! I like that it has several hook ups you can use in the back and on the side so you dont have to reach to the back to hook up temporary things like cameras or laptops. It also has a very stylish design, which of course is part of what I like most about the entire Sony brand!
The only three complaints I have about this TV would be 1) when you turn it on it takes about 17 seconds to actually start the pic/sound I own a Panasonic for downstairs and that one turns on instantaneously. Now 17 seconds might not seem like a long time, and for the most part I'm used to it but at first I kept turning it off and on b/c I didnt realize it was already on just still "warming up??" I suppose.
and 2) the sound is not as great as I would hope from a Sony. Its not a problem for me b/c its in my room which is not huge so its okay but I could see this being a problem in a TV room or living room... you'd probably need a good surround sound which I suppose most people have anyways right??
and lastly 3) the TV remote stopped working about 3-4 months after I got the TV. I've been using the DirecTV remote which works fine but I'd still like access to the menu options that I obviously can't access with the direcTV remote :(. I called Sony and their customer service rep was very friendly and tried to talk me through some trouble shooting options all which didn't work.. and YES I did switch out batteries.. my only option was to mail it in for repair which is frankly too much of a hassle for me... I think I have one or two weeks left of the mfr warranty so I may send it in just for kicks and b/c Sony really is great about fixing things or sending you new ones during the mfr warranty.
well thats it for me, these three things knocked off one star for me but... bottome line.. Sony is great and this TV is pretty awesome!!
