UPDATE: They ALL Shuffle like grandpa
Pros
Nice feature set
Cons
Shuffle time is ridiculously long.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you use shuffle - get ready for long delays between songs. (Sadly, this is common with all newer changers)
*********** UPDATE ***********
So I shopped around last nite. Guess what? All of the new CD changers have this incredibly slow random play "feature". I checked out: Denon, Yamaha, Harmon Kardon, Onkyo, Phillips, - I still need to find a JVC to try.
Anyway - My original complaint about Sony is invalid. They all are extremely slow. I guess I'll try to find an old one somewhere.

I just picked one up from Best Buy last night. I'm returning it tomorrow.
It is a fine player with a good set of specifications. It had what I wanted in the way of optical & analog outputs. A good set of program, direct disc access, audible fast fwd, etc.
BUT!!! I use 5-disc shuffle mode 95% of the time when I'm listening to music. This beast waits until the end of a song before it decides to go figure out what to play next! The silence is deafening! It averages 12-15 seconds between tracks. My 4 year old Magnavox (Phillips)averages 4-5 seconds between songs.
Great machine - unless you want to use shuffle.
