I am NOT a fan of Sony products. I got this as a Christmas present and it has won me over. I currently have 180 CD's, so I'm close to capacity, but the concept of being able to play my entire collection without changing a disc has won me over.
You can group CD's into eight categories (naming each group whatever you want). All names are limited to 13 characters including CD's, which is a rather small amount for descriptive names.
You can shuffle all discs, one disc or discs in a group. You can NOT shuffle through two or more groups. This is rather annoying because I have a group for ROCK and another for Hard Rock. I can not shuffle between just these two groups. If you want this feature I suggest moving up the Sony line.
The lack of a headphone jack is also annoying, my Phillips 5 CD changer had one with a separate volume control and I used it all the time. Once again, move up the Sony line for this feature.
But for less than $200 mail order, this is a stunning piece of machinery. It's a little slow loading CDs, but the convenience of over 200 CDs in one juke box is well worth the wait. I love the grouping feature, except for the one weakness mentioned above, and use it most often during Christmas season when I listen to hours of seasonal music all day.
It also comes with a well written manual and easy-to-use remote control.
